P.V.Kuryan came to the national movement when he was a student in 1938. He was later the secretary of ForwardBlock in Travancore. In the Forties he joined the socialist movement and was one of the founder members of the congress Socialist party in Travancore. In subsequent years he stood with dr. Lohya. On Lohya`s death he continued the work for the propogation of Lohya`s ideas.
